Tak heran jika Walikota Nice, Christian Estrosi, menganggap kejadian ini sebagai “worst tragedy in the history of Nice.”

Selain ungkapan Estrosi, sejumlah nama besar pun turut menyampaikan duka mendalamnya, seperti Barrack Obama, Donald Trump, Josh Gad, Mandy Moore, Paris Hilton, dan bintang serial TV “Supernatural” Jensen Ackles. “#france...sending love.

“Just heard the terrible news from Nice. I am shocked. My thoughts and prayers to all affected,” kicau Simon Cowell melalui akun Twitter. Paris Hilton pun tak ketinggalan berikan komentar. “So sad to hear of the horrific tragedies that happened in #Nice tonight. What is happening to our world? These senseless acts of violence to innocent people needs to stop! Can't we all just live our lives in love & peace? My heart & prayers go out to all the victims & their families. Truly heartbreaking #PrayForNice #PrayForFrance #PrayForTheWorld,” tulis pelantun “Stars Are Blind” ini melalui akun Instagram-nya.

Presiden Amerika Serikat, Barrack Obama, ikut melayangkan pernyataan mengenai tragedi keji tersebut. Melalui akun @WhiteHouse, ia menuliskan, “On behalf of the American people, I condemn in the strongest terms what appears to be a horrific terrorist attack in Nice, France, which killed and wounded dozens of innocent civilians. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families and other loved ones of those killed, and we wish a full recovery for the many wounded. I have directed my team to be in touch with French officials, and we have offered any assistance that they may need to investigate this attack and bring those responsible to justice,” ungkap pria nomer satu di Amerika Serikat ini.

Ia pun melanjutkan, “We stand in solidarity and partnership with France, our oldest ally, as they respond to and recover from this attack. On this Bastille Day, we are reminded of the extraordinary resilience and democratic values that have made France an inspiration to the entire world, and we know that the character of the French Republic will endure long after this decastating and tragic loss of life,” tutup Presiden Obama.

“I looked up and saw, like, a tsunami wave of people just running towards me as fast as they possibly could screaming at the top of their lungs. And I just grabbed who I was with and started running as fast as possible. It was basically just complete mass hysteria,” cerita seorang saksi bernama dr. Kevin Motamedi. “It was the scariest moment of my life, easily. “As we were running, you could tell the people in front of us had no idea that anything was going on, so we were running and grabbing people saying, ‘Run. Go home!’” ceritanya, dilansir dari Nbcnews.com.

It was horrible and as a human, let’s take a break to send our prayers to all over the world. Let’s #PrayfortheWorld.
